The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
Cosmopolitan is one of the youngest hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, wall to wall with the famous Bellagio Hotel. The hotel remains 5-star rated, but shows the signs of wear and tear that the hard-partying guests have dished out over the years between my first visit in 2011 and last visit in 2018.
Choose the Cosmopolitan if you want a great location on the Las Vegas strip from which to explore. You can party during the day at the hotel's famous Club Marquee. Probably not the best choice for a couple seeking a quiet weekend - there are some other calmer spa hotel resorts in Las Vegas for that purpose.
Plus
-
Party mode deluxe
-
Great location on the strip
-
In addition to the night club, the hotel has two other pool areas, one of which is somewhat calmer if you are looking for rehab
-
Party, gamble and eat 24 hours a day
-
The fitness center was perfect
Minus
-
I no longer feel that this is a 5-star hotel
-
Extreme high prices at the pool area, this would have been fine if it reflected high quality food, but this is not the case.
Tips
-
Sneak a $20 bill to the check-in staff to get room upgrades (this trick works 50/50 of the times when visiting hotels in the world, but works every time in Las Vegas).
-
When staying at the hotel you skip the line when visiting the nightclub Marquee
rating
I kept coming back to the hotel because I felt the price was right and the location was perfect, but I think I will choose a different hotel if I return to Las Vegas again, 4/5.
